I flew out to San Francisco to attend a small magician’s convention called the Golden Gate Gathering June 19-21. It was held in Foster City just south of the San Francisco airport. There were about 60 people in attendance.

I hung out with several terrific magicians. Made friends with the local northern California magicians. The highlight of the trip was to meet one of my heroes in magic Bob White from Dallas, TX. Bob’s one of the ‘old school’ guys with tons of experience and knowledge under his belt. Getting to hang out with Bob was worth the cost of the trip. Also got to see some great magic performed by others. Seeing others perform great magic motivates me to up my own game.

After submitting an application online, I was accepted to perform at the 32nd Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Festival. It was held at the North end of Union Square Park on May 8, 2011.
